The Z28 auto is a 13 second car. The Z28 6 spd is a low 13 second car. It sounds like either they do not know how to drive, race or both.
This is not to say that the SC GSR is slow. I beat a Trans AM when I pulled off my 13.66 run.

LS1's are '98+ FBodies. Driver means a ton still even though they're rolling dramatically more power than most guys here. Most Stock FBodies with an average driver pull a high 13 at the track with good drivers pulling as low as 12.9's stock. It doesn't hurt to try and see what happens, especially on the freeway where they don't have the 60' advantage. JRCivic and the Turbo guys here are nightmares on the highway vs these guys. If you want to compare modded LS1's then that's a whole different best that WILL beat Vipers. With your average NOS setup, these cars are pulling low 11's. Gross. I still think trying vs. any car you feel like is fun even if you get smoked. It's fun to appreciate another car roaring down the street even if you're the kill they're making ;o).

Mr. Rogers - Had the same sorta race a few weeks back, this tricked out yellow GTS is rolling along the freeway and there were also a couple of hooptie'fid rice rockets near it (probably just admiring it as I was - more like drooling and at the same time biting at the bit). It turned out he wasn't one of those old geezers who are afraid of their awesome sports car. After a quick sprint in front of him he snapped up on to my heels and pulled next to me, I down shifted to let him know it was on and he went for it and I followed. Not nearly as closely as I had hoped though. In about a good 3 seconds he was pulling away from me hard and steady. He know he had me and let off about 4 or 5 car lengths ahead. DAMN!!
It was cool though, I mean, like you said I "run what I brung" which is needless to say not a viper, but still very capable of humbing many a V8.

Mr Rogers- I had a similar race as you did but my race was against a modified Porsche 911 twin turbo. He gave a a head start off the light and still killed me by 8 car length. So, I'm crazy enough to race him but, I figured how many chances will I get to race one.
